achieng ajuoga
The oracle of muhoroni redefined
Achieng Ajuoga is MC Sharon's 20 year old indigenous esoteric imprint and she is the first to ever incorporate the term 'Ajuoga' before her maiden Luo name in a creative capacity as a musician, a producer and as a cultural aficionado who has spent over two decades in the industry.
Achieng Ajuoga thus is the template in this regard and she is now an official influence for those who are stylizing their names in the same manner as they attempt to discover themselves in that light.
Stylizing this moniker also goes hand in hand with her penchant for branding all her gifts into different identities:
1. Decibelle the Goddess of Sound - The Producer and musical concept developer
2. Alshaverb Mama Yao - The Lyricist/Writer
3. MC Sharon - The Lyrical sharpshooter
4. MLO Africa - The Chefemcee
5. Achieng Pictures - The Painter
6. ACHIENG AJUOGA - The Oracle
Other monikers include Mukuru wa Rhymes, Rap Shumileta, Bad Nguna, Mama Rock and Mundu Mugo.

Given the influence of Abrahamic religions and the western theological ideologies, the term Ajuoga has always been viewed sceptically by a cross section of the community.
It is a term that is associated with the dark arts and in platforming Achieng Ajuoga, MC Sharon has taken a bold step in not only reclaiming the true meaning of what being a seer, a healer and an oracle truly embodies.

She has also mainstreamed the term Ajuoga and altered its dark connotations by extensively speaking about it in her music and in her books.
As a result, a term that was once shrouded in secrecy and scepticism is not only now worth emulating by others. The term is a part of the decolonization conversation from an artistic point of view.

Her work encapsulates poetry, spoken word hip hop, big beats, live instrumentals, afro fusions and nostalgic melodic arrangements which when fused together create a magical ensemble that's pleasing to the ears and awakening to the soul.

Her themes include championing representation of women in artistic spaces in her capacity as one of the few female producers and a multilingual musician who also happens to be one of the few women who can rap comfortably in her vernacular Luo language.
Decolonization, ethnic cohesion, identity and gender, feminism, the divine feminine, environmental conservation, SGBV, politics, love and her lakeside roots are some of the topics she explores via her multidisciplinary skill set.
“Being brave enough to just be unapologetic for who you are, that's a goddess. — Banks.”
